Lyrics (One Version):

There ain’t nothing I can do, or nothing I can say,
Some folks will criticize me.
So I’m gonna do just what I want to anyway,
And don’t care if you all despise me.

If I should take a notion
To jump into the ocean,
It ain’t nobody’s business if I do.

If I go to church on Sunday
And I shimmy down on Monday,
It ain’t nobody’s business if I do.

And if my friend ain’t got no money
And I say, “All right, take all of mine honey,”
It ain’t nobody’s business if I do.

If I lend her my last nickel
And it leaves me in a pickle,
It ain’t nobody’s business if I do.

I would rather my gal would hit me
Than to haul right up and quit me.
It ain’t nobody’s business if I do.

I know that she won’t call no copper
If she gets beat up by her poppa.
It ain’t nobody’s business if I do, Lord no.
Well, it ain’t nobody’s business if I do.

The Stumble, Freddy King (Freddie King and Sonny Thompson), 1961

Original recording:  Freddy King (Guitar), Sonny Thomson (Piano), Bill Willis (Bass) and Philip Paul (Drums)

(Amazon) Blues – 20 Hits

Recording information:  Recorded for King/Federal in 1961. The other musicians were session players for the label rather than Freddie’s Band. One of my favorites. It seems like it could just roll forever and I could listen that long!

Other covers

Jeff Beck, Peter Green with John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers, Gary MooreLuther Allison and others

Today we are happy to present some original blues artwork from Allan Mainous. These are copyright images which can’t be used without his permission. Thanks Allan!!

I am originally from Detroit , and grew up in the same neighborhood as Little Willie John, Dennis Coffey, and Stevie Wonder. After school every day my friends and I would sneak down into my basement to listen to my prize passion: a Jimmy Reed LP. The Blues   “gets into you’re Soul”. So when I started painting , I was compelled to express myself  and all the feelings that The Blues can bring up. Some of my images have been  used at The Children’s Museum in Boston. As a learning aid teaching children about listening to music and then transfer those feelings to visual art. My paintings and prints are displayed in many Blues venues all over the country. I love the Blues and hope that people can see the emotions behind my “Music Art” .
